My name is Miss Ashley
I’m the director of Nobis Preschool in Costa Mesa. I have been a part of the Nobis family since 2012. In 2001, I started my journey in the field of Early Childhood Education and Care when I took a ROP class during my senior year of high school. I volunteered at a Montessori for growth hours and was officially hired at the school right after graduation. During college, I worked at 2 major preschools and gain experience working with children of all ages. I also spent time student teaching at the Irvine College Child Development Center. Now I have my certificate in Child Development, including coursework in Administration for young children.
I am a well-rounded educator. I have had the chance to work with children ranging in age from 6 weeks old to 6 years old; including children challenged by autism, learning disabilities and noncompliant behaviors. I have gained in-depth knowledge of accommodating different styles of learners and incorporated effective methods to meet students’ unique needs. I enjoy creating a home-like environment for the children and sustaining strong working relationships with all members of the school community.
I have lived in South Orange County my whole life. I currently live in Lake Forest with my husband and our two children; Austin who is 7 ½ year old and Alana who is 5 years old. My family and I enjoy spending time outdoors; especially at the beach or at our family house in Lake Havasu, Arizona.
Early Childhood Education is my passion. I look forward to sharing my passion with future Nobis families. You can call or email me at Ashley@nobispreschool.com for more information or to set up a tour.

Hello my name is April. In August of 2015 I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Services and minor in Child and Adolescent Development. August of 2013 was My first experience in working with children at Cal State Fullerton’s Children’s Center. In July of 2015 I came to Nobis as an intern and loved the children and the environment. In September of 2015 I began to work in the preschool classroom. I am a passionate and dedicated educator who wants to encourage each child to express themselves and their ideas through play, communication, and academics.
My name is Miss Melisa
I am one of the preschool teachers here at Nobis preschool. I recently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. I have also volunteered at a national organization called Jumpstart,
which strives to make sure every child is kindergarten ready. Through this experience I realized teaching preschool aged children is my passion.
A little bit about me, my parents are deaf and through them I have learned sign language as a way of communication which I try to bring into the classroom. I am also currently working on getting my special education credential.
As a preschool teacher, I love to read stories and build on the imagination young children have. I also love science and get excited when children ask many “why” questions. I hope to pass on my
excitement for school and my knowledge to these wonderful children because they are the future.
To that end, one of my favorite quotes is from Bill Gates, “Because the first 5 years have so much to do with how the next 80 turn out.”

I have an Associate of Arts degree and have studied Early Childhood Education at several colleges in California. I plan on completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. Another goal of mine is to complete a lesson plan book based off of Newberry Award winning novels, at the 4th-6th grade level. Some of my favorite things are books, stories, creativity, and imagination! I have developed a passion for children’s literature and hope to someday direct my career path specifically toward this area of education. I am intrigued by the individuality of each person and enjoy being a part of children’s lives as they grow and develop their own unique qualities and traits!
My name is Miss Debbie
has two kids and has been working with preschool aged children for the past 22 years. The first 9 years of her career were devoted to working with infants at Harry and Grace Steele Children’s Center at OCC. She started teaching preschoolers ages 3-4 years old for 5 ½ years at the same center. When she started working for Nobis Preschool in 2008, she was teaching in the preschool classroom for a short time before finally settling in with the toddlers as one of the lead teachers. Although she has worked with children from 3 weeks to 6 years old, toddlers are by far her favorite age group and she is thrilled to be working with them. Ms. Debbie fulfilled her child development requirements at OCC, receiving her AA in 2009. In fact she has taken every class in Early Childhood Education including the Administration classes. She is currently certified to be a preschool teacher and director. She is one class away from holding her infant/toddler certificate. Ms. Debbie has 2 adult children, Robert 26 years old and Melissa 22 years old. She also has a passion for animals; having 5 cats and 2 dogs. She loves to dance; has taken all the dance classes at OCC and has also been a member of a dance group called the “Happy Tappers” for several years. She used to perform at senior centers, malls and hospitals. Someday she would love to teach tap to children.

My name is Veronica
I am 47 years of age and live here in Costa Mesa. My dream of being a teacher began when I was still a child. My mother was an English teacher and I told her that I would like to be like her one day. She passed away at an early age but it didn’t stop me in pursuing my dreams of being an educator.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English in the Philippines. I taught for 14 years in two schools where I enjoyed teaching in imparting knowledge and information to my students. The joy of everything I did for my students, superiors and co-teachers made me crave more to be with the younger generation… the world’s future.
I migrated here in the United States in 2002 and landed as a resident manager and caregiver in a residential facility where I managed and took care of the elderly with Alzheimer’s. I also loved this job because I got to help other people and showed them all my love and care. I worked there for 8 years and got married to a very loving and supportive man. He encouraged me to go back to school and get a certificate if I wanted to teach preschoolers. I was so happy, so I enrolled at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. I just recently got my certificate for Early Childhood Education in Preschool last May. As of the moment, Nobis Preschool gave me this opportunity to experience the joy of being with the hope of the next generation… children. My journey is beginning once again and I can’t wait where it takes me.
